Pattaya Marathon

As a tourism centre for Thailand's eastern seaboard and one of the region's premier beach resorts well- served by an extensive range of facilities of international standards, Pattaya is a complete destination with land and marine attractions within easy access.

Pattaya also offers one of the most picturesque running routes in South East Asia and is home to the "Pattaya Marathon", an annual international event which features a marathon, half- marathon, and a 10.550 km. quarter marathon and attracts participation from world- class runners and locals.

For a number of years now Pattaya's annual marathons runs have attracted top class runners from all over the world. But you don't have to be a famous champion to complete; all you need is a reasonably fit body, lots of energy and an official serial number.

The route of full Marathon goes from City Hall down to the Beach Road then it turns up South Road.

The prize money amounts to about 800,000 Bath, and trophies and medals are also awarded. To them, and all good sportsmen and women, simply taking part and doing the best they can is the most important objective.
